Do I get this polyp removed?

I had a polyp that was discovered June 2011 from a sono histogram. Dr. at RS of NY thought because it was so small and based on the location that it was not an issue (not in location of implantation). I trusted him and let it go.

Fast forward to the end of September after two failed IVF's I just wanted to get second opinions on my protocols. I felt A. get other ideas and present to current Dr. and see if they are flexible B. just to see what others thought of my situation. Current Dr. at RS of NY was open to other protocols. The polyp was mentioned by the second opinions and my current Dr. felt if it gave me peace of mind then have it removed. Ia m worried that if it is still there and I have it removed I need to sit out this cycle and wait until end of November December to do my last fresh cycle with GHI. My current OB/GYN does not seem concerned about the polyp.  I then move over to Aetnaimage in January. What concerns me is that I have been making 7 folliicles (acceptable I guess to my current Dr.). When discussing the protocol he said well with the next follicle you could make 10, 7 or 4. IF 4 we cancel the cycle and pick it up again the following month. I told him I can't because my GHI will then run out Do I have it removed or don't I?

Anyone had tiny polyps that just vanished? Some Dr.s want a clean slate one of my friends said do it for peace of mind what if the next IVF does not work, yes it could have been your eggs or it could have been the polyp.

  • Please don't post the same question on the board every day.

I'm sorry if this seems long ...

I'm thinking of switching RE's. My current one is not terrible but some thingsthey do are not fully explained, I do, and husband agreed ask the same question over and over so I think I have frustrated them. For the next IVF ccyle I felt I had to suggest something to my protocol. The other RE I'm looking at seems nice , explains things but gave a quick protocol for an IVF which I'm  not sure with. He will not be back until the end of the week and if I wanted to, I could not do my next fresh cycle with him until the end of November.

At the same time, based on a sonohistogram, I had a tiny 4x2 mm polyp that my current RE felt was fine to leave alone back on 6/30. Now I am questioning it. I am supposed to call to schedule a sonohistorgram for Day 5 or 6? Who do I do it with? My current RE? If the polyp is gone, proceed, try his protocol of clomid with injections ( he said that it could be converted to IUI if does not produce more follicles as compared to the last cycle)- that way I do not waste the insurance $$$ on a fresh cycle. Do I "try out the new RE" by having it done with him. IF the polyp is gone I am going to have to sit out this cycle because there are some requirements that have to be met and I could not start until the end of November. To be honest, I know my first RE is frustrated with me and the second one has told me I am overstressed over this. It seems the first RE is just giving me this protocol to satisfy my needs - this concerns me. The second RE's protocol seems like the second protocol except the gonatrophins are given two times a day and are a little more in amps but he is cutting back on the menopaur - less LH. WWYD?

So basically, if I get my sonohistogram with my current RE and the polyp is gone ... do I proceed with the option to cancel  the fresh and do IUI if the number of follicles are not there? IF the polyp is there I know I want it removed.  Do I try the new RE, get the sonohisto ... if the polyp is not there I have to ride out the cycle. If it is I will have it removed. Note I will be 41 a the end of this month so I do not want to waste too much time.
Same basic question, same board, different day. Interestingly you mention that you have a history of asking the same question over and over again and even people that are being paid to listen to you are frustrated with this behavior. For the record, I'm a monster when it comes to asking questions from my RE and the staff at my clinic, and I have never once been chastised for it. It's not the questions per se, but how you ask maybe.
Sorry if this seems unfair and touchy, but this board as well as any BB you encounter online will have it's own culture and etiquette. Rambling non-sensical posts and unapologetically pushy behavior, basically anything that you wouldn't say or do to a stranger IRL, is generally frowned upon. No one here is obligated to respond to your posts, and if you don't think this is acceptable you should ask yourself why you're trying to force it.

  • I am not , the situation has changed and not everyone hits the same board.
  • I was just trying to simplify and abbreviate my statement/question since I value that other people do not have time to read huge posts. Please do not be angry with me. You ask monster questions ... so do I and I'm sure others do too. I try to be apologetic.  Please understand the someone else in my family has been very ill and I am trying to deal with that as well so I am under additional anxiety.
  • I'm sorry you are under duress, but without knowing anything about you all I know is what you put down in words.

But Edwina, what about asking the same question on DIFFERENT boards on the same day?  Is that allowed?

To OP:  No matter how or who you ask, no one here will be able to tell you with 100% certainty what will work and what will not.  Trust me, if I had a crystal ball, I wouldn't still be hanging around these bits.
