3rd Trimester

baby shower punch

my husband's cousin is planning my baby shower, and she is a very busy mother of 3, all her kids play sports and she is a home care nurse, so i volunteered to help her out in whatever way she needed me to since i'm a housewife and after the dishes are done and floors are mopped i tend to get overwhelmingly bored... she told me i could make the punch for the shower. i have been looking up a couple recipes, but i thought i would ask you ladies if there was any specific punch you would recommend (: if it matters, we are expecting about 35 guests. thanks!

Re: baby shower punch

  • it's not fancy but I always mix store bought punch with sprite and then you can add frozen berries.  I've also seen people put in sorbet.

  • The punch my mom did at my shower was the rainbow sherbert and 7up poured over it.  They also make specific punch mix in the freezer section and you just buy ginger ale to put over it.

  • My favorite recipe is:

    1 can frozen lemonade
2 liters Sprite (7up or Sierra Mist)
    64 oz cranberry juice

Mix all 3 ingredients & add an ice ring. If it's too tart for your taste add more soda.

  • My favorite punch in the world is so simple.

-Mixed Ginger Ale & fruit juice

    -Any flavor Sorbet

    - frozen fruit

Its sooo good and creamy.. I always have way too many glasses.

  • 1 bottle of your favorite fruit juice (I like cranberry), 1 bottle of ginger ale, and a few scoops of your favorite sherbet (pineapple and raspberry are both great!).

Or 1 bottle of fruit juice, 1 bottle/can of pineapple juice, and 1 bottle of ginger ale, if you don't want the sherbet in there.

You can freeze fruit juice in regular or cute molded ice cube trays to float in the punch bowl, or put some frozen fruit chunks in there.

  • My mom made a really cute one for my shower...you can make it pink or blue depending on what you're having.

1 2 liter of sprite/7 up whichever you want

1 package kool-aid punch mix (either the regular red (girl), or the blue punch (boy) with the 1 cup sugar it calls for (we doubled the recipe, but only used 1 cup sugar for it and it turned out fine, so you could probably just use 1/2 cup for a single recipe)

1 container of white cranberry juice or white grape juice (any clear juice will work)

float scoops of vanilla ice cream on top, along with a few rubber duckies

It looks really cute, and it is very creamy! If you get chunks of the ice cream in your glass it almost tastes like a float! mmm

  • We used Paula Deen's lime sherbet punch recipe. It was fabulous!

    Ingredients

    • 2 quarts lime sherbet
    • 2 liters ginger ale
    • 1 (46-ounce) can pineapple juice
    • Lemon slices
    • Lime slices
    • Maraschino cherries

    Directions

In a punch bowl, add 2 quarts of lime sherbet. Then add ginger ale and pineapple juice. Decorate with lemon and lime slices and some maraschino cherries

  • My mom made lime sherbet punch and it was so good! I wasn't to sure about how it was going to taste because of the pineapple juice but it was amazing. The only thing she did different was instead of ginger ale she used Sprite and she only added limes not lemons. Here is the link...
