So we have a new name! DH has ventured from Emma Claire (finally!) and now likes the name Abigail "Abby" Claire. I am absolutely in love with this name.. but can you help me with the spelling? Abbey or Abby? Or is there another spelling I'm not aware of... Abbi? TIA!

Gail.
Abby is a really obnoxious, unattractive name.
An abbey is where nuns live.
Abby is so cute! My son has just started saying "Abby" (a character on Sesame Street, in case that matters to you...) Anyway, the way he says it is so cute that my husband and I are starting to seriously consider Abigail for our little girl.
I'm sorry you think that, but it's the NN we are using.
I'm personally not a fan of "Gail" but she will have the option to use that when she is older.
So do I. I personally am not a huge fan of NNs and I think Abigail is beautiful by itself. BUT DH is huge on NNs so I guess we'll compromise somehow.

This. In addition, the "e" just seems an unnecessary vowel thrown in when the "y" is already putting in the work.

I like Abigail!
How about "Abi" for short?
My initial thought. Although, reading the responses, I kinda like Fianschneid's "Abbie" also.
