Is it just unusually warm this year? I never expected to be on the peninsula and it be over 80 degrees all through October.
I'm stressing out over halloween now b/c my kiddo wants to be a robot and that's going to be uber hot if it's 80+ out
Tell me this isn't usual. Please.
Re: Weather question
It comes and goes--all I know is that on my wedding we were thinking it was going to be mid 70s and it ended up being 98 degrees and that was the end of October. :
It looks like we're having an Indian summer....but usually it is a little cooler on Halloween--this year, who knows?! So confusing!
Every year, I say "omg - it's so hot this year" and every year it's this way. It was 90+ degrees the day I got married and that was 7 years ago. Since I've had kids, I've always expected it to be cold and their costumes reflect it. And then the day comes and they can't wear the costumes during the day because it's so hot. I've finally learned and it's layers all the way.
Fall is the Bay Area's real summer. It is usually reliably warm with blue skies. The real summer months are HOT inland but cool to cold on the coast. It sucks when shopping for clothes (so many cute fall styles that you can't wear until THanksgiving, if then!), but is otherwise why people live in a place with such a temperate climate, right?
As a kid my mom always bought or made me super warm fall clothes for back to school, and I would be sweating by lunch. Same deal for many a Thanksgiving and Xmas. No layers, just long sleeves. Yuck! I try to plan better for our little family but still failed a few thanksgivings ago when we all ended up in tshirts instead of the gorgeous long sleeves I picked out months in advance.

well I guess we'll stick with the robot. I thought I left 80+ degree weather behind in Texas, but oh well
