So I have been mixing WCM into formula for C for the past few weeks and she is ok with it, but just seems to be losing interest in the bottle altogether - She is offered about 16 oz formula/WCM mixed, and generally has about 12-14 of that. At what point do I stop offering bottles and give her milk with meals? She is a very good eater (knock on wood) but I don't want her to not have any fluids and she isn't super interested in drinking all the time... It just doesn't seem like enough.
Re: Walk me through the transition: bottles to sippy w/ meal
Honestly we still don't offer milk with her meals, at 2.5... I use milk more as a snack, and I don't want her filling up on milk during meal time.
At age 1, Eve was getting 4 bottles a day.. we gradually switched those to sippies but at the same times, one by one.. bedtime being the last to switch from bottle to sippy.. I think we finally were on all sippies by 16 or 17 months. We eliminated one of those milk servings around that time too.. maybe 18 months? She kept the 3rd one (which was a couple hours before dinner, usually when she woke from her nap) until just recently..I think in June, when the pedi encouraged me to drop it to get her to eat more.. So now she gets milk right when she wakes up in the morning and right before bed. The rest of the time she drinks water.

DD never was a big drinker bc of her choking. So I never worried about her filling up on milk. We actually never gave her anything but sippies at meal times - water at first and then milk once she hit a year old. Now she gets a choice. But like I said, she hardly drinks - maaaaybe 8 ounces of milk total through out all 3 meals. The pedi said it is not a big deal since she eats yogurt and cheese. I think it is actually worse to have a kid drink way too much milk bc of not getting food nutrients and iron levels that if a kid doesn't drink much milk but otherwise eats well.
