Not happening for me... LO will fight his nap sometimes & he has never done this. I've tried to lay him in his crib & let him cry it out for a few minutes, but no luck.
Any techniques you ladies have done that worked? Would love some help!
No help, but I just wanted to chime in and tell you you are NOT alone. I have to rock DS to sleep or else I am up all night!! Can't wait to hear from suggestions.

I give DS his lovey blankie to snuggle with, kiss him good night, and walk away. I let him CIO for 5-10 minutes (usually he only needs about 3 minutes). If he's still crying, I'll go in and sing to him. If he's still awake, but not crying I leave him alone. If I can't get him to sleep after half an hour, I take him out of the crib, we walk around the house for a few minutes and try again.
I never held you, but I always loved you.

I've tried CIO about 3 times and it never works. LO will cry more then 10 minutes if he isn't having it. I guess I will try it again now that he is a little older. I will definitely try your way tomorrow
We're in the same boat too.. and he wakes up 1-2x/night now and I have to nurse him back to sleep.
Today we started our "sleep training". I'm still rocking him to the point of him just falling asleep/getting drowsy, and then putting him in his crib. for Nap this afternoon he played for 15 minutes with a slight fuss then got himself to sleep..
For sleep im watching him kick around/fuss a decent amount right now on the monitor.. if it goes for more then 5 minutes I'll go in and pat him..
But I've got to break him of this habit of needing mommy to get him to sleep..

This exactly. Except LO doesn't cry anymore. We give him his binky, lovey, lay him down, and walk away. When we first started doing this at 5 or so months he cried, but it only took him about a week to get use to it. Now he loves his crib!

We did it gradually. DD could be put down and I'll sit in the glider in her room while she falls asleep. She'll roll, kick, talk and play with her pacifier but eventually goes to sleep. I usually have to give the pacifier back here and there but I'll start walking away soon and eventually she'll get it. We did the same thing for the cosleeper when I stopped rocking her at about 4 1/2 months. If she gets really upset I'll sit by her and out my hand on her until she stops. I also took a hint from super nanny and do not talk to her or make too much eye contact. Then she thinks it's time to play.
