middle name troubles.

So we're having a girl and naming her Alyssa.

We really wanted our first girl to have the middle name Elizabeth but Alyssa just seemed to fit and Alyssa Elizabeth doesn't work well in my opinion. We like family names as middle names but we don't have much for girls names. From the beginning we were just deciding between Alyssa Catherine and Alyssa Jane but now I think I want to find a new one. Even if it isn't a family name. 

I loved the way Alyssa Catherine sounds. Catherine comes from SO's mom and I just can't do it anymore. She's generally terrible to us and its just been getting worse and she keeps making comments on how we should go with Catherine to honor her. We just like the idea of using family names, it isn't really to honor anyone. I'm probably just being spiteful but since she's been rude and can't shut up about honoring her, she's ruined the name for me. We might change her name all together...bleh.

 

Any middle name ideas for Alyssa?

You could name her Alyssa Beth...it's a play on the full name Elizabeth.  I would sooooo not go with "Catherine" if your MIL is being the way she is, out of spite, but that's just me.    What is your middle name, whis SO middle name, your mom's name or middle name?  Could you play off any of those?
