Only on a baby board would you see that subject line!! Anyway, DS is extremely snotty today and I am having the HARDEST time getting the snot sucker thing anywhere near him. Anyone have any helpful tips on how to successful get his nose cleared?
I had to lay him down on the floor and sit next to him, put my leg over the lower portion of his body and his one arm and then use my other arm to use the snot sucker and hold his head..
I learned to use it one-handed. I have to get DS on his back, use my left arm to hold down both of his arms, then use my right hand to position the snot sucker. Also, I try to get saline drops in his nose before using the sucker because it loosens everything up and makes it go faster. This still only works about half of the time.
I hold her down with my forearm and just do it. She hates it but I can do it in about 15 seconds.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."

Gage has had a lot of mucus lately. I realized over the weekend that his patience for the aspirator is better when he is actually sitting up rather than laying down. I would sit indian style with him inside my legs or put him it the bumbo.

This may be bad, but I wait until her nose is actually leaking. I find it easier to suck it out this way, and it makes me not have to put the thing real far in her nose. She still gets mad, but not as mad as when I need to put the aspirator farther in the nose.
