Getting ready to switch the little man's crib into a toddler bed. I'm wanting a flat sheet though, and so far I can only find fitted crib sheets. Anybody find these anywhere?
My pedi said that they need to be in their crib until they start climbing out or they reach 35 inches in height, whichever comes first. It's a safety issue. Unless he's escaping from the crib, 13 months seems really early to be switching to the toddler bed.

Thats what I thought too. I'm leaving him in there until he's 10, just building taller sides.

Is he climbing out? If not, why is the world would you be transitioning to the toddler bed? Geez, even if he was climbing out, at 13 months I'd suggest a crib tent before the toddler bed. That being said, you can get toddler bed sheet sets.
His crib easily turns into a toddler bed, and he's getting to the point that he can almost climb out of it as a crib. That scares me. So I want him to start using it as a bed. He's almost 14mos... both of my nieces switched at that age with no problems!

As I said- he's been experimenting with climbing out. He's a monkey... I don't want him to fall and get hurt. He climbs on to, and off of furniture very easily and properly. Also, he will be 14 months this week. I was just trying to prepare for when I do switch him, which will most likely be in the next couple of months.
I was just reminded why I barely ever post here anymore, so much judging. Thanks to those who showed links to flat sheets.

Thanks for your help. He can escape. Also, it IS his crib. The railing comes off and you attach a partial side rail. So he is still 'contained' but he can climb out of bed properly, and not like a monkey and hurt himself.
That being said, crib tents are not very safe, but whatever you think!
Have you tried Etsy? I'm sure there is someone who could make you a set. My BFF is going through this with her 2 yr old right now, she is trying to get him a toddler bed set and can't find just plain sheet sets (pillow case, flat & fitted) without a comforter for toddler beds. So annoying!

Wow! Defensive much? I know exactly what you are talking about, as we also have a convertible crib with a toddler rail which attaches after the crib front is off. I am simply giving you the advice because transtioning too early can really screw up sleep habits.
I didn't read your link, but I know several people who've used the crib tents with great success. I don't have any personal experience with it because my daughter didn't climb out until she was well over two and by then was ready for the toddler bed.

I will look on Etsy, thank you! I could also probably just make them, but I was hoping to take the easy route. It's hard because his crib coverts to his toddler bed, and I think a "crib" matress" is different than the toddler bed size. So even if I buy a "set" then I would be getting a fitted sheet that is too big. *sigh*
I guess I should have explained earlier that we just bought a house and will be moving in about 8 weeks. We planned to switch his crib at that time, I was just trying to be prepared since life will be chaotic at that point. I just hate when people on here assume you're a terrible parent for no reason. It's just a damn flat sheet!
BTW, toddler mattresses are the same size as crib. As a matter of fact, many mattresses are two in one. One side for crib, the other for toddler. So any toddler bed set will fit.
And no one was saying you were a terrible parent AT ALL! I was just concerned about the sleep.

Sorry if I over-reacted. It's been a long day. I'm crossing my fingers that it won't disrupt his sleep, because it will be the same, familiar bed, just structured a little different. He's always been my good sleeper... He sleeps 12-14 hours a night, so I'm hoping he takes this change in stride! We are installing a safety gate on his bedroom door, so that just in case he sleepwalks, or wonders in the middle of the night, he can't get very far. My brother did this with my niece and it worked great for them.
I found some nice gingham crib sheets on aBaby.com. You can buy these fitted or flat?your choice. You might find more flat sheets on the same site, but I recently got these so it?s still fresh on my mind. There?s a variety of colors ? I usually mix and match.
Re: Crib sized flat sheets?
Have you checked toddler bedding sets?
Also, just wondering why you're switching so soon. I'm thinking of moving DS to a twin bed in a few months.
ETA: I think all the Circo brand toddler bed sets have flat sheets. https://www.target.com/p/Circo-Toddler-Sports-Bedding-Set/-/A-11468659
Here's just a sheet set with a pillow case, flat sheet, and fitted sheet for only $16

Try searching for toddler bed sheets, not crib sheets.

That is genius! I wish!
