Nickname ?

My DH and I both like the name Charlotte, but DH is concerned about people calling her Char.  He HATES Char.  Are there any other nicknames for Charlotte?  I told him she doesn't need a nn, just call her Charlotte all the time, but he is worried about it.

I'd say Charlie is another nickname, but I know most posters on this board are not a fan.

Charlie and Lottie are probably the two best ones, I prefer Lottie personally. But you can make it clear her name is Charlotte, until she's around 10 or so at least. My brother went by Alexander until he started calling himself Alex around age 10. Just always call her Charlotte and if people try to call her something else, just quickly correct them.

I know a 40-something woman named Charlotte. No nickname all those years. I don't see the need for worry.

I love Charlotte and agree that it doesn't need a nickname.

I agree that Charlotte is very pretty and doesn't need a nm, but if you don't "choose" one, people will most likely call her Char.  I hear Charlie a lot as a nm.  A friend of a friend just had a baby and named her Charlotte and calls her Charlie.

Charlie/Carlie - The Charlotte I know is a Char.  I think it will be pretty impossible to avoid Char.
