post csection motivation!

So I had a really rough csection and had gained alot of weight during my pregnancy (35lbs) and actually alot right before (30lbs) so im trying to stay proactive about losing it, I joined weight watchers and am walking a good hour everyday...

any other tips on staying on track??

  • Seriously, you're only 3 weeks out.  Relax, heal and enjoy that little itty bitty.  It will start coming off soon.  Promise.

  • I agree with the previous poster. I had to start out super slow because I ended up on bed-rest at the end of my pregnancy then ended up with an emergency c-section when an ECV went wrong. I mostly just walked my errands with my little guy in a baby carrier after I was cleared to do that, then eased back in to working out with Nia (it's like a fusion of yoga, martial arts, and modern dance), then doing running/walking intervals at the gym. Now, he's six months old, and I've been running for about two months now.

    I still have 18 lbs to go (I was 5'2" and 115 lbs before), but now I'm running 3 miles most days and doing some weights afterwards. Just keep at it!

  • I'm probably not the best example but hang in there. 3 weeks PP you still have a TON of healing to do. You may feel ok on the outside on inside, our bodies are healing from major surgery. For my first 10 weeks after the C-section, I just walked too. A good friend of mine is a physical therapist who has seen too many women from not allowing their cores to heal properly and end up with muscular issues. I am 12 weeks since the c-section and still have 30 pounds to lose. I lost 25 in the first 10 days---ALL FLUID.  :) Enjoy the LO and HEAL. I need to remind myself of this same thing everyday. It took us 9 months to gain it, it's gonna take time to lose it.

  • I think Im just nervous about looking up in a year and not losing any weight, I plan on just walking until I get cleared for anything else. I just want to change the poor eating habits and couch sitting habits I had not only in the last 9 months but my whole life. Just trying to be healthy all around :)

  • I've had two c-sections and have a lot of extra weight on my stomach. I go to aerobics while my husband watches the kids. I get exercise and some time to myself as well.
