Cloth Diapering

So the consensus on gDiapers?

Is they're not so good? I haven't seen them mentioned on here hardly any, but see them online and they look pretty. Just wondering. Thanks!

Re: So the consensus on gDiapers?

  • My aunt loves hers. Everyone else I've talked to is not so keen on them.

  • I haven't ever heard/read anything good. Sadly, they're the only CDs sold locally where I live.

  • I started out with the whole gDiaper system. I didn't mind it until I tried other CDs and realized gDiapers were extra work and didn't work as well.
  • I used cloth diapers with the disposable/flushable liners for almost a year on my oldest DD. I liked them.

I now use them but stuff them with MF and hemp or organic cotton and hemp. I have never used their g-cloth. So far with my inserts they are working just fine.

  • We use them and love them. My husband has no trouble with him like he does with the other pocket style diapers. To me that speaks for itself, but everyone is different. I don't really have trouble with her leaking in the non gdiapers that we have, but he does horribly. We use the cloth most of the time and the biodegradable inserts occasionally. We like that we only have a few covers, several liners, and the inserts. I don't think they are that much more work than the pocket diapers. My husband won't even touch prefolds (we went to a brick and mortar cd store near us and played for a bit) and I think it is a good compromise for us. They are pretty, they do work well if you seat them right.

Sorry, you said you use the g-cloth? You like them? Have you tried other inserts instead? Do they work as well/better then the g-cloth? I am thinking of buying some g-cloth to re purpose more of my g-diapers from my oldest DD but I have heard such mixed reviews!

  • I have not used the covers, but love the gcloth insert.  We use them with flip covers.  I actually like them much better than the flip inserts.

  • We use gDiapers with gCloth inserts and love them. I think the consensus is mixed. They seem to be the easiest for DH and he really likes them and they wash up really, really well.

    This exactly!

When we swiched to the medium size, DS was just peeing too much at one time for the covers to hold it all in, and since they're breathable (not PUL) they leaked every time.
