Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Need some motivation

I hate looking in the mirror and seeing this flabby person that I don't recognize. What are some of your routines, rituals, schedules, etc that you lovely ladies do to whip your butts back into shape?!

  • Do you have a Zumba class around that you can take?  I love me some Zumba.

    Have you tried the 30 Day Shred?  I haven't done it since DS was born, but I did it prior to getting pregnant and liked it.  I'm having an issue with my foot right now but once we get it straightened out I'm going to start with the 30DS and then get back into Zumba.

  • I second the zumba, though I haven't done it since P got here!  When he's cranky, I turn on the radio and dance around... sometimes with him in my arms or just in front of him to make him laugh (even my 6 mo old knows i'm a terrible dancer)Embarrassed

    I try to walk with him a lot and do things like squats with him in my arms, push ups while he's on the floor, etc.  He's heavy, so anything I do with him is like adorable weight training!  :)

  • When I am so motivated, I do 20 minute pilates after my LO goes to bed. It doesn't feel too hard and its quick, but you still get results. A local dance studio has adult ballet that I did up until the third tri, I plan on getting back into that. Just find something that sounds fun or walking is always "easy" and it better and nothing. Its just finding the free time that is hard, and then actually feeling like working out when that free time comes around. I have no worked out in weeks. I need a kick in the butt too. Also, I really liked the Summer Sanders prenatal workout dvd, think it would be bad if I still did it?!

  • Weigh yourself every day in the am and put your weight on the fridge. It sounds awful, I know but it helps to see it. Know what you are having for breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day to avoid ruining your diet. I drink at least a gallon of water a day. If you mess up don't beat yourself up, take it one day at a time.
