Not sure what stores are in your area, but I went to JoAnn's last week and they had a nice variety of sizes/shapes of letters--more than I remember seeing at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They also have a lot of scrapbooking supplies in their $1 bins that you could use. If there isn't one near you they have a web store.

Ya, any of the craft stores are good! Check their websites to see what is on sale this week.
Also, obsessedwithscrapbooking.com will usually post coupons that you can print out and bring to the store! FYI, you can use Michaels coupons at JoAnns and vice versa, but Hobby Lobby will only accept their own coupons.

Michael's is good around here (Minnesota) for that type of thing. I should go take a picture of what I did for my SD's room, but I'm lazy and can never upload to The Bump. I bought cardboard letters (a little bit bigger and less expensive) in her initials, painted the sides brown, then modge podged pink and brown scrapbook paper over the top (one piece for each letter). I then used embellishments I found in the clearance section to jazz them up a bit.
I did them three and a half years ago, and she still loves them! (She is 10 now)
Also, Michael's and JoAnne Fabrics both take competitors coupons. Usually (around here anyway) you can get 40% off of one item and they don't always take it off of the least expensive. Also, if you are anywhere close to central MN its worth the drive to St. Cloud for Crafts Direct. It is by far the cheapest craft store I've ever been to -- and the largest.

thanks ladies! There's a Joann's somewhere near me (I have lived in NJ for over a year but I'm still learning the area) and I didn't know it was a craft store! Also good to know about the coupons. thanks again.

I bought mine at Michaels for $1.99 each and they are already white instead of just plain wood. I just bought the first letter of each name and put them above there beds. That way I figured they could be used even when they were older and it wasn't so babyish with there whole name.
