After 8 weeks as nomads we're FINALLY settling into our house.
It was a really long 8 weeks and we have a lot of settling in to do, but we're all finally together! It's pretty fantastic to actually live with your husband! We have decided that no matter how amazing the career advancement is we will never live apart again.
I'm back (ish) because the little town we moved to (around 3000 people) is often without internet (which is dial up) and we don't even qualify for voicemail through the phone company. We also haven't had TV since we moved in because the satellite provider doesn't provide installation services because we're too remote.
Even typing that last paragraph I feel panicky... we live in the middle of nowhere!!!!! But there are lots of stay at home moms and kids programs here so we're making friends and getting out of the house.
Looking forward to catching up with you all!
Re: I'm back (ish)
Yay Teri! So good to see you here! Hooray for moving in and reuniting. I cannot fathom being in that remote/small of a town! Wow. But at least there's lots of SAHM and kiddie things to do. The lack of TV wouldn't bother me, but dial-up internet would. Our new home didn't come with ATT so we switched to Windstream and it SUCKS! We only get 3 mps if we're lucky so we might as well be on dial-up during peak times. Ugh. So, I am switching us to COX asap...even though it'll cost us more...at least we'll have HIGH SPEED internet. Hope you all get a better option soon...does your satellite provider allow DIY installs? And do they offer internet? That would be a killer for me!
How are you feeling? November will be here soon! So exciting! I dunno about you but this second PG seems to be flying by! I cannot believe I am 26 weeks! Are you team green again? How is Elyse doing with becoming a big sister? Libby is super excited and so cute kissing and patting my belly...we shall she what happens when he's actually here!

Yaaaaay for moving! Isn't it such a great relief to be together again?
Yeah, living in a rural area can certainly take some getting used to, especially when it comes to services you take for granted like internet, TV, etc! The town where we're living now only has one - count 'em, ONE - phone tower, so because of our house's location (in the lee of a hill) I seldom get a cell phone signal unless I go into town. We do, however, have internet - thank god!
It's a good thing that there are a lot of kids programs in the area - having some playgroups to attend has been our saving grace since there aren't a lot of activities (like the zoo or whatever) to go to. It's a big help to get that social contact with other kids and SAHMs.
How far is it to the nearest big(ger) city from where you are?

I'm a bit ashamed about how much the lack of TV has crippled me! I love all the CW smut. We have found some random dude here in town who hangs satellite dishes so we should have tv in a week or two.
We won't have high speed internet until January or February when the lines come through.
I'm feeling exhausted and UBER emotional. This pregnancy has definitely flown by. We are team green! We've been so busy that we haven't even thought of names. So this little babe will probably be nameless for a while, just like Elyse was.
Elyse doesn't really understand that there is a baby in my tummy. She kind of acts scandalized when I show her my tummy. She pats it them pulls my shirt back down. haha! But she does love babies now. She has several of her own and always wants to stop and see babies when we're around them.

Thanks!! I'm feeling ok. I've started nesting and making freezer meals. The only perk of moving when you're 8 months pregnant is you don't mess around when unpacking. We were in and all closets/drawers etc organized within 2 weeks.
