Please rec your favorite learning toy for your LO... DS will be 6 mo on Christmas Eve and we would like to get him a learning toy that he can grow with... TIA!!!
Fisher-Price Puppy. It comes in different formats, such as sing and dance, parts of the body, etc, so you pick the one you like best. My LO loves his (I would compare his love for this dog to the love he has for Sophie). The puppy is easy to activate and for my DS to press. It sings and tells you different parts of the body. We got ours as a gift from Poland so his is in Polish. Super cute and fun! My niece has the same one in English, she's 2 years old and still plays with it.

Oh that is so cool that it is in a different language... do you know where you can get them online in a different language or would we actually have to buy it in that country for it to be in that language? DH would love to get a German one!
It has lots of music, plus it does colors, numbers, up & down, open & close, alphabet....(in both english & spanish)
The legs come off so if your LO isn't standing yet (which they probably won't be at 6 months!) then you can just put it on the ground until they start pulling up.

I have both the Leap Frog table and FP Puppy. DS loves standing up and playing with the table; for some reason he doesn't care for the puppy (which I don't mind because I kinda find it loud and annoying).
I just traveled to the in laws out of town, and they pulled this out for my son to play with. Omg, instant love. I was real hesitant because it sort of moves around like those walkers they tell you to avoid, but after watching him in it, I think it's more like an Exersaucer that just gives him the ability to move around in a circle vs a walker that offers feigned mobility. While he was in it, his three year old cousin was showing him all the toys on the table, and the kid was having so much fun with them he kept playing with it even after my baby was out of it! So I think it would definitely grow with you.
Ditto to the bright starts activity table/around we go! LO LOVES THIS! We've had her in it since 4 months old and by 5 months old she was literally RUNNING around it! She uses it as her treadmill! DH calls it a flintstone car! She runs and runs and then lifts her legs up and coasts! She sometimes runs over our small dog! It's hysterial and has been great for building her strength! It's a must have!

yes, look at all the photos on the amazon link.
This was recommended to me by a friend and other mommies overheard and agreed it's one of the best and will grow with your child. I think i may order it today!

Oh I see...
Also, does anyone know how it works on carpet? I know there are pictures of it, but I wasn't sure how easy it would be to manuver on thicker carpet since we have limited space of non-carpeted flooring...
My inlaws had it on a rug. In fact I read somewhere that some people put weights in the hollow base to keep it down on hardwood floors, so carpet may work best anyway...

It's only sold in the country, as far as I know.
