DH and I had a 2nd opinion appt with another clinic on Tuesday. All the RE could come up with was that he thinks I have triggered a couple days too late for both cycles. Other than that he gave me nothing - even said that the clinic I go to is very reputable. He was very nice, thorough, and caring. I was just hoping for a smoking gun, ya know???
So now we are left to figure out if we should change or stay with our current RE and clinic. The considerations: (1) current clinic has 27% blast transfer rate for someone my age and the 2nd opinion clinic has an 80% blast transfer rate, (2) current clinic uses vitrification for frosties and 2nd opinion clinic uses the slow-freeze method, (3) current clinic has offered us $1000 off on IVF3 (small amount I know, but it is something and I am in the process of crafting an email to see if I get increase the amount).
To be honest, we are leaning towards staying with the current clinic. Even though there is a stark difference between the blast transfer rates the pregnancy rates are pretty much the same - actually a little higher for our current clinic. When I scheduled the 2nd opinion appt I was pretty upset with how the m/c was being dealt with, but now that time has passed and the whole event isn't so raw I have calmed down. I think I am slowly realizing that sh*t really does just happen. =S

Glad your second opionion went well but I also understand the disappointment of not getting a better answer. I agree with naybird when she says if success rates are the same than go with who you are most comfortable with. The one piece of advice if you don't mind.. after 3 failed IVFs with my old RE, what frustrated me in the end was that the protocol never seemed to change - not at all. He said he would be more aggressive or do something different.. but in the end we always ended up doing the same thing. I think it was important for me to feel and know that we were trying something different and I think I found that with me new RE. I hope you and DH can come to a decision that you are both happy with. Good luck hun.

I am sorry for they did have some awesome answer about what might have gone wrong. I understand hoping for that.
I hope IVF #3 does the trick no matter which RE you use and will be rooting for you!
I do like that your current clinic uses vitrification - I don't know why all RE haven't switched to this method.
Hang in there hon!

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
Moving forward with Adoption 2017!
*** really does just happen. It sucks but it's true. I have always fallen on the bad side of the odds.
wishing you lots of luck on making your decision!
Seeking a 2nd opinion is always a good thing to do but can be so difficult because you want so badly for the new clinic to do things differently & to try a different protocol - something different than what's been done before but unfortunately it sometimes doesn't give you any more hope than you had before
I say go with what you know, go with your gut & go with what feels right in your heart!
Wishing you luck with your decision & crossing my fingers that this next step in your journey will finally be IT for you!!
