I actually think it's funny that UB is thought of so highly.  When I was there my position was going to a state position from a research foundation job and I was asked, since I was newly married (yes, it was said), what my plans for family was.  This was from the head of the search committee.  Now ask me if I got the job I held sucessfully for years? 

Although I do know Mara -  who was quoted in the article (and attended my wedding and sat at the same table as the jerk I mentioned above) - and she certainly rocks working motherhood and a position at UB.

i feel like this past year Buffalo has been in a lot of top 10 lists.  My dad told me the other day that buffalo is number 1 in the least miserable people
