Anyone who has a child who has reached pre-school age, specifically three years old, knows it can be a very trying age. So, when the sweet moments happen, and I am thankful that we have a good many, I really try to hold on to them to get me through the tougher times. This particular one was so sweet it had me teary eyed and I thought I would share.
Cadence, for some reason, has been going through a bought of seperation anxiety on her pre-school drop off mornings. She has gone through this on and off since she was 9 months old so I know it will eventually pass. This morning in the car on the way to school she said, "I like school now. I am going to be a big girl. I won't cry." Then she said, "I want it to snow. Then I get to stay home with my Mommy and play in the snow. That is fun! I love my Mommy."
I believe she is remembering the snow storm that iced over last January and shut down the city for a week. I was still working full time and 8 months pregnant with Trevor at the time. It was the last time we got that much time just the two of us. We have not spoken of that snow storm since, so I know she has a real memory of it. Just a good reminder to me that things may be challenging as these kiddos find their places in this world, but their little hearts really are so sweet and loving.
Re: Sweet Moment
How sweet! Some of the sweetest moments with Abigail are more about her Daddy when he's gone, but it melts my heart nonetheless.
Definitely makes up for the trying times.
