Lo is allergic to dairy so GI recommended cutting soy from my diet as well. So then, what's the scoop on soybean oil? I was just craving some fast food (I know, I know, but geez Louise this diet is HARD and a girl wants some junk food now and then!) so I looked up Taco Bell's allergen menu and they say 'may contain soybean oil which is not considered allergenic.' Have I been making this harder than it has to be or do you guys avoid soybean oil? It's literally in EVERYTHING!
Re: Soybean oil is okay?
So clearly I posted too soon and have since read some older posts about soybean oil causing reactions. I have no idea yet since lo is still on Neocate trial (until we get a blood-free diaper - hoping tmrw at pedi's office) and I haven't challenged with breast milk yet.
Here's hoping!

DD has a suspected milk allergy so I eliminated dairy and soy, including soybean oil. I reintroduced soybean oil after she had clear diapers for a month and she hasn't had a reaction.
I think every kid is different, and it also depends on how well you can tolerate the diet. I've adjusted fairly well, and adding back in the soybean oil has been great because I can actually eat out now. GL!
