And when/how often is LO eating yogurt? In place of fruits & veggies or along with? Once a day or here and there?
I guess I'm wondering how much of yogurt, meats ect LO should be eating daily at 7 months old. As of now she's just eating 3 meals a day of fruit/veggie purees and we're starting meat this week. I'm just trying to see how to incorporate breads, yogurt, table food into the mix!
Re: What kind of yogurt does LO eat??
We do a fruit puree mixed with oatmeal for breakfast, a yogurt for lunch, and a veggie/meat for dinner (sometimes mixed with mix grain cereal).
Each meal is accompanied with mum-mums, and puffs or other snack.
We get either Gerber or YoBaby. The store near me doesn't have the YoBaby in strawberry, which is her favorite, and Gerber doesn't have the blueberry, so we get a combination.
Similar to pp- breakfast is fruit and oatmeal. Lunch is a fruit and yogurt. Dinner is fruit and veg. I haven't introduced meat yet. Maybe at 8 months.
For the yogurt I get the tub of full fat plain yogurt from Dannon or Stoneyfield. I add my own fruit purees to it. .
DS usually has a few tablespoons of full fat greek yogurt mixed with one cube of fruit (plus, pears, apples, mango, peach, etc) for breakfast everyday. He LOVES it and isn't getting any added sugars.
We will sometimes give the fruit/yogurt combo for lunch or dinner too but we've pretty much been sticking to veggies/fruit and finger foods like black beans, puffs, shredded cheese, toast for those meals.
Usually once or twice a day. I offer a fruit or veggie, dairy or protein, and grain with each meal.
Yobaby and we do it sometimes with breakfast or lunch. At 7 months, we had just started a 2nd meal (b-fast; dinner was our first meal started at 5.5 months). We added a 3rd meal (lunch) at 8 months. We don't do snack now b/c she's still getting most of her nutrition from formula (up to 12 months) so she's not hungry enough to eat a snack and we don't want her to fill up on non-formula food.
Her meals are:
b-fast: fruit with oatmeal or yogurt
lunch: veggie with yogurt or fruit
dinner: veggie & protein
My LO loves Gerber yogurt... she eats banana, strawberry and peach. She has been eating a yogurt each day for breakfast lately, but I may change it up soon.
She has yet to do dinner, but for lunch she has a veggie mix.
My Pedi said not to introduce meat until she's 8 months.
