C-sections

cream for incision

hi ladies:

I just had a c-section almost a month ago. I just bought Mederma to put on my incision scar. What cream are you ladies using or have used before?

Dr gave me a name of a cream that starts with the letter K can't remeber now, but d tried getting it for me at cvs and they did not have it.

So Merderma has to do.

Re: cream for incision

  • I know what cream you are taking about, my OB gave to me actually for a scar on my shin. I'm pretty sure its a RX cream. But Mederma works great too, so does bio-oil.

  • I work in the skin care center at a plastic surgeon's office and the doctors send people over for a scar product called Dermatix everyday. Its not available in drug stores but people love it. You massage it on the scar 2-3 times a day, its kind of a silicone type product and a little goes a long way. Its around $45 and they do ship. I can give you the phone number if you want to call and order some, just let me know :)

  • I haven't used it yet for my c-section scar....but I used Kelo-cote after my gall bladder surgery and saw a huge improvement.  Is that what your dr recommended?  You might have to get it on amazon...I have never seen it in a drug store!
