Babies: 3 - 6 Months

My poor LO :(

You know those moments when you just know that something is up with your child, and nothing anyone says will change your mind? That was me last night. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that something was up with D because she wasn't her normal smiley self, so I took her to the pedi this morning. DH thought that I was being overly paranoid because "she looks fine to me".

The diagnosis? Double ear infection and a sore throat. Sad I hate being right sometimes.

Other than giving her the antibiotics, baby acetaminophen, and nursing on demand, is there anything else I can do to make her more comfortable?

Oh, I am! I finally got her to take a much needed nap, so she seems in better spirits right now. And thank you!

This! And don't ever doubt yourself. I had something similar happen a week and a half ago. Brought the little guy to the dr and they said oh it's just a gastro virus. I ended up in the ER the next day because he just didn't seem right still - he ended up having emergency surgery. Always better safe than sorry!

OMG, poor little guy! Hope he's doing better and there's no more emergencies in his future.

Most of DH's family likes to make fun of me about stuff like that. I swear, if I hear "Oh, all first time mommies are this paranoid" one more time, I think I may run screaming off into the wilderness. Nature gave us instincts for a reason, and I chose to listen to mine when it comes to my kid.
