Our twins are 17 weeks today, and we still swaddle them. Just this week we have only swaddled one arm because we are trying to move towards not swaddling. So far so good! Good luck with your twins!
Harry was all like - I don't need no stinkin' swaddle from day one... so we just didn't do it.
Alexander loved his swaddle... so after the first month, we would do our bedtime routine, put him down unswaddled. Then if he woke up, we'd then swaddle him for the rest of the night. As he dropped that waking/bottle, he dropped the swaddle as well.
They both have been in sleepsacks since then. So Harry since 4 weeks, Alex since around 2/3 months.
Me: PCOs DH: Perfect!
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
We stopped swaddling between 10-12 weeks. I didn't want to develop a dependency on it. They were fussy for 2 nights once we stopped swaddling and have been fine ever since
U/S#1 showed 2 heartbeats!
U/S#2 showed Baby A's heartbeat was 157 and Baby B 's heartbeat was 183!
U/S#4 showed Baby A is a Boy (heartbeat 161) and Baby B is a Girl (heartbeat 159)!!
all 3 of mine LOVED to be swaddled- and were great sleepers while swaddled- so we had them swaddled until 6mo at night... we stopped for naps around 4-5mo.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
We stopped swaddling one DD at around 3.5 months, but the other one clearly still needed it. We stopped her at around 5 months, and the first few nights were rough.
ETA: We stopped swaddling the first DD because she started to roll. The other one was a slower roller, so I was ok keeping her swaddled.
Mine hated being swaddled. They lasted roughly 2-3 weeks being swaddled. So, we decided not to swaddle them anymore. I do use a Halo wearable blanket and they don't seem to mind that. They're 4.5 months now and have been sleeping fine without being swaddled.
I've swaddled in MB's since the girls were 5 weeks old and we are still trying to get them to sleep unswaddled now. I'm going to have to stop cold turkey soon
ditto. I swaddled until 6 months. .... I wondered if it was ok that late...and our PT for Kate told me it's actually very good for them to stay in the tucked position. Helps w/crawling down the road, etc. vs. being all sprawled out like a frog.
TTC for 12 years. m/c 2009.
BFP on New Year's 2010.
