Multiples

When did you take classes?

My ob hasn't mentioned them yet at all, but it would make sense to do a little earlier than "normal" with twins and all . . .

And last night we took a tour of the hospital because we were still trying to decide where to go.  They ahve a special class for multiples, but its only offered Friday night, and then not again till the end of Jan!  That seems a little too late for me . . . .

When did you sign up for all the fun? ;)

Re: When did you take classes?

  • I'm a week behind you and we are taking our classes in December.  I'd rather do them early and make sure I get to take them all.  GL
  • I'm starting calsses Nov. 3 for 6 weeks, so I'll be 30 weeks when I'm done.  I'm also having twins, so we'll see how long I can make it!  They usually recommend starting around 6 mos. but if there's a special class for twins, I would take that one!

  • We didn't take classes at all. I was pretty sure I was going to have a section by the way my baby B was laying in there, so I didn't worry about it. She was a flipper- breech one week, vertex the next. We did the tour when I was in the early 30w area. Maybe 32w?

  • We are finishing up our last class tonight and i will be 30 weeks on monday.  We have taken several:  baby care, child birth and breastfeeding and i will be thrilled to be finished tonight since it is getting more difficult to sit around for several hours at a time.  I would definitely recommend taking them on the early side.  Just like how everyone seems to agree to have your showers complete by 28 weeks i would suggest the same as far as baby classes go.  HTH!
  • Our classes were once a week starting at 24 weeks for 4 weeks.  I only made it to the first two before I went on bedrest, so my hsuband went to the last ones for me and audio taped them.  I'd do them early!

  • I'm going to take my classes during the latter part of December when I have time off from work.  I figure it can't hurt to have the info early.
  • Hey Beth! ?We took the childbirth class at 32 weeks, and the BF class at 34 weeks. ?We were out of town when they offered the multiples class.

?Just FYI - the Baptist childbirth class is really great! ?But I didn't particularly like the breastfeeding class at Centennial - I didn't find it all that helpful. ?Maybe Baptist has a better one. ?I was bummed to miss Baptist's multiples class - I hear it's great! ??

Our hospital only offers breastfeeding classes every other month so I went ahead and took that around 23 weeks.  I figured if it was something really good, I could always go again (the class was free).  We did childbirth class at 25 weeks.  We would have done it slightly later, but that was the only time that worked for my husband's schedule.  I think my OB and peri recommened doing classes around 28 weeks.

  • All of our classes are in the month of November so they are running from weeks 30-33.  I didn't want to take them too early for fear of forgetting everything.  Now that I'm getting ready to start them I'm glad I waited because things feel much more real/applicable now, plus all of our showers are out of the way so this gives me something else to look forward too.
