Two Under 2

I must be crazy thinking I want a 3rd now

My boys are 14 months apart, with ds turning 2 in nov. Ive been handling boys at home ok this last month, & now that my 9 month old is begining to learn to walk I miss the tiny baby size. Im thinking about asking dh if he wants to try for another now? Both my boys were complete surprise pregnancys, it would be fun to be trying for one & have a 3rd planned baby...i dont know maybe im craxy

  • Yep... You're crazy. LOL. Just kidding....to each their own! There's no way I would want another, but we are all different!

  • My DD is the same age, and I feel the total opposite. Now that I have a more independent baby, I'm loving being out of that exhausting newborn stage.

If you can afford it and can handle it mentally/emotionally, go for it!

  • I dont' think you are crazy.  I think it is common for baby fever to hit when a baby hits 6-9 months.  They are more independent but adorable.  They are sleeping more and not crying nearly as much.  They aren't really whiney yet.  I think the 6-12 months age is WONDERFUL.

I have no idea if I want more kids.  DH has been deployed for the last 5 months (and will be gone for a few more) so we haven't even talked about.  When I was pregnant with #2 I was pretty sure I would "never" want another.  Never say never :).

I'm still not totally sure what to do, but I am definitely open to the discussion.  And if we choose to go for #3, I am hoping to TTC in 6-12 months.  So not a repeat of my 16 month apart kids, but definitely not a big age gap :).  I have a feeling if I'm not pregnant in the next 18 months-2 years that we wont' go for #3 just because we will want to move on from the baby stage.

    GOOD LUCK!

No more TTC for us. We are done, and at peace, as a family of 4.

  • 3u3 was a surprise for us but 2u2 went so smoothly I'm praying for the same again. Good luck deciding!
  • sounds crazy to me right now but i'm in the thick of it with DS2 being less than a month and not sleeping.  if you think you can do it, go for it!

  • I am already thinking about our 3rd.  #1 and #2 are 20 months apart and I think that was perfect so we will likely try for #3 about the same time frame.  People think I am crazy too but to each thier own.

  • Wanting and having are 2 different things!  We would LOVE a 3rd, but we know we won't have anymore.  I think DH and I would be in the loonie bin ;).  good luck to you!

  • You're not crazy! I've already caught myself thinking about a third. It hopefully won't happen anytime soon, but I'd like to start ttC when ds is about one. I'd like a two year gap...not one year!
  • Now that my youngest is 1, I really want another. I'd love to have another before DS2 is 2 years old.

    Ditto!

  • We want 4 kids, so I think it would be nice to have 1.5yr age gap with each. Although baby #2 is not here yet, maybe i'll change my mind, lol.

  • I think you're crazy, but I'm still in survival mode with DD2. We aren't sure if we'll have a third child yet, although DH would be thrilled to have one. We've decided that we'll start talking about it more when DD2 turns one. Until then, my hands are very full as it is, LOL.
