PIO vs Supps

Hey Ladies:

I have done supps for both IVFs and am thinking about bringing PIO into the mix instead for IVF3.

Other than being able to check progesterone via b/w, can you tell me why you chose one over the other.

Thanks!

Re: PIO vs Supps

  • That is what my RE had me do for my first.  The first couple shots were worse for H than for me.  From what I have read the supps can get messy.  The shot IMO are neat and quick.
I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013

  • I'd do it just because you can monitor P4 via b/w. Peace of mind is priceless.

  • Thanks ladies.

I am leaning towards the shots - for the very reason Madelyn stated.  Going with the PIO pushes our cycling back from Nov/Dec to Jan/Feb b/c of international travel plans.  I don't want to worry about crossing borders and administering the shots when I am away... assuming of course that we have a successful cycle.  At this point, what is another couple of months anyway.

    Thanks again. :)

  • I know this is coming a bit late but my RE prefers PIO - I don't really know why but she does. I'm wishing you luck as you gear up for your next IVF!
    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!
