Middle name after family member question

Hi,

We are having a second little girl next month and I wanted to honor my mom with the middle name.  We have decided to use family names for our children's middle names.  We used DH grandmother's name for out other DD's middle name.  This time it is my turn to chose a family member and my mom and I are super close.  Her name is Barbara Anne.  We have decided on Scarlett as the first name.  Scarlett Barbara doesn't sound that great to me.  I think Scarlett Anne sounds so much better.  Is it just as much of an honor to her to use her middle name instead of her first name or should I go with Scarlett Barbara so it is more obvious who she is named after?  Thanks.

I think Scarlett Anne is very nice. Your family will know that she is named in honor of your mother. My middle name is my aunts middle name to honor her and my DH middle name is his fathers middle name. I think middle names are great choices to honor someone.

I think Scarlett Anne is perfect and still just as much of an honor. My DD's middle name is Elizabeth which is my grandmother's middle name. She is still very much aware that DD is named after her.  I completely agree with you that Scarlett Anne sounds better than Scarlett Barbara.
