Food Allergy

I was in heaven last week

We were in Disney World with the boys... their faces lit up with the characters, mine lit up at chefs at EVERY restaurant who sat down with me and discussed Alex's egg allergy.

Heaven!  Such a change from the usual "oh your kid is allergic? yeah, I can't guarantee anything.  Good luck!"  I normally get.

  • I am glad you had such a good experience.  We will probably take the boys in a couple of years.  I've heard nothing but good things about how they handle food allergies!

  • wow, that does sound like heaven.  I can't wait to go!
  • That makes me so relieved. We are heading there next month and to not have to worry about what DD eats will make it much more of a vacation.

Oh my gosh - it was fantastic.  I might never vacation anywhere else ever again.

When you get to any restaurant or quick service restaurants, all you have to say is "I need an allergy meal".  Then it's like the whole world stops.  The chef comes out and discusses what your DD's allergies are (I'm not sure what she's allergic to) and tells you if it's feasible to make the meal you want without the allergents.  I know that for things that need to be fried, they switch out the frying oil as well!  A few times we went to nicer restaurants and they even told us if the bread on the table had eggs in it or not.

    Have a great time!
