Girl's name questions

H and I have picked Adelle for our baby girl's name. I love the name Adele, but I very much prefer it with two L's. Is this a complete no according to the traditional spelling, or is it ok? Another reason we decided on the two L version is so less people will ask if we named her after the singer (a ton of people have asked already). Also, for the middle name, our front runners are Margaret or Kay. I prefer Margaret but H is not sold. Our last name is two syllables and difficult to pair with. Opinions on these two MNs or other suggestions?

Two Ls is fine IMO.  People are doing a lot kookier things with spelling than that. 

Also, I like Margaret.  Kay is also pretty - but Margaret is less expected for a middle name and I like that.

I'm a big proponent of traditional spellings, but Adelle doesn't really bother me.  I think both Kay and Margaret are lovely middle name choices.

When you tell people that your daughter's name is Adele/Adelle, how is putting an extra L in there going to tell people that it's not after the singer?  It's not like they can hear the extra L.  It doesn't really make sense to me, sorry.

I understand what you mean, but that's really a very small part of it. I just generally prefer 2 L's. When people have asked, I say no and we're spelling it differently. However, if I liked Adele better, I'd use that, even though there is a popular singer with that name. I just want to make sure the two L thing isn't too you-neek.

I like it spelled both ways.  Adele is my sister's mn, so I have always liked it.  Her fn is Meredith.  Adelle Meredith Lastname is pretty, eh?  :-)  Between Margaret and Kay, I much prefer Margaret.  If you wanted Kay for a family thing, you could choose a mn that begins with K, so she'd be Adelle K. Lastname.  I like Kimberly, Katherine, Kathleen, etc.
