I'm surprised at how many don't like bangs on children!

I really didn't want to give DD bangs but she won't leave anything in her hair all day.  Dh would pick her up from daycare and her hair was all in her face, so I decided to get them cut.  I actually don't mind them and think she looks pretty cute with them.  I do want her to grow them out when she will leave bows in her hair, though.

  • Your DD is so cute with her bangs.

Generally, I don't like bangs (period).

  • I hate bangs on me and can't wait for them to grow out, but I think A looks really cute with them!
  • Yeah, I know a bunch of people who don't like bangs. It's a necessity for DD though, because she inherited DH's lovely cowlicks, which involve the front part of her hair always falling forward, so she would be always trying to push it out of her face and eyes if we grew it out. I actually think they look cute on her. With my big fat curly hair, I could never have bangs, so I have bang envy!
  • I do not like them either, yet tried them with Audrey...but they are being grown out now...She's anti-barrette too.  But I'm thinking longer will still be better.

I get why people have them for their kids.  I just know I hated them as a kid.

  • I did NOT want DD to have bangs, but she also won't keep anything in her hair and I was sick of her hair being in her face, so I got her haircut last Friday. She does look cute with them, but as soon as she's old enough to wear barretts without pulling them out, I'm growing them out.

I had bangs when I was a kid and I hated them, but I always thought it would be too much of a pain to grow them out. I finally did it senior year in college and it really was a PITA! I had to wear barretts and felt like a child. I don't want to do that to DD. If she wants to cut bangs when she's old enough to make that decision, that's fine, but I don't want her blaming me for the bangs she hates! LOL

  • I think little girls look adorable with bangs. I don't get why people don't like it so much! Doesn't my dd look cute ;-)

  • I think they look cute on some kids...but I am too cheap to pay every couple weeks for my kids hair to be cut & I just don't like them in general.  My kids will never have them (& yes, my 1yr old doesn't like stuff in her hair either but I put rubber bands in & she can't get them out)...at least not until they are old enough to choose for themselves--LOL!

  • Maybe it's just my child, but it's been a month or longer, and we haven't had to get DD's trimmed yet :).  I think it's funny that people think they're high maintenance.
