I've always thought it was pretty, but when I think about it TOO much I think of smoking a pipe, or the pied piper or sandpiper.... Lay your honest opinions on me, please.
Plus I speak French and "pipe" ("faire un pipe") is French for blow job. Which means Piper is probably not the best name for a girl who might someday study abroad, IMO. ;-)
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I actually like it; one of my guilty pleasure names. I do get the image of a sandpiper when I hear the name, mainly because they mean something special to me and my family. I don't think I would ever use it; its not really my husband's style and it is becomming very popular.

For some reason Piper brings up images of ditzy blonde cheerleader, maybe bc the only PIper I have ever known was exactly that. I think it's cute for a child or high schooler but I have a hard time with Piper as an adult in the career world. Not bad just NMS.
I put it in the same category as Bridget or Harper--very spunky and happy-go-lucky. I would imagine a Piper as being someone who mega-cute who doesn't care what people thing about her (in a good way)
This board has always been split on this name, but I LOVE it! We were going to name DS Piper Jean if he was a girl. (After pastor/theologian/author John Piper.) We will use this name if/when we have a girl!

I like it alot.I also picture someone with a spunky personality when I think of this name.I wouldn't use it because DH hates it,but it does not have negative associations for me.

Re: Thoughts on Piper?
Never really saw the appeal.

I actually do like it, but am not brave enough to use it.
This. My husband loves the name, but it doesn't go with our last name.
