Hawaii Babies

MauiBride

first off, i LOVE your new siggy - R is too precious!  those dimples and those eyes - sooo adorable.  love the 6 month photo too Big Smile  i bet you got a ton of great shots that day!

second - i was wondering how you did the swing to crib transition?  one of my IRL friends is starting to stress about her son doing all his sleeping in the swing, but he's only 2 months - i feel like it's too early for her to worry about it yet, and I'm sure she'd appreciate a been there done that perspective, especially when you had such a great transition when R was older.  any tips?  thanks!

  • Awww, thank you!  I hope his eyes stay blue and lucky he got daddy's dimples :)

R has officially transitioned out of the swing!  As you know I was very stressed about this, but I figured at 6 months those days should be over since he is a tad too big to be in it.  I think at 2 months is too early too early to stress over it although I'm guilty of feeling that way.  Sleeping habits were/are my #1 stress!

I basically just gradually transitioned him out.  R already slept perfectly in his crib at nite so that was one obstical I didn't have to tackle, but naps were a problem.  The first way I transitioned him out was moving his last nap of the day into his crib.  I figured if he didn't sleep that well for that nap he would just be extra tired for bed time and then I moved gradually to removing his afternoon nap in the swing then moving his morning nap.

For me it worked very well, but honestly I think with R now wanting to move around everywhere it made the move that much easier.  I almost think he was just ready to be out of there :)
