First off, I am asking, not for myself, but just because I am curious. We have a seperation/divorce situation in my family involving my niece (3.5 years old)...
My question is... if both parents are active in the child's life, and she is on a rotating (weekly) schedule between the households, how does daycare work? Same daycare each week, regardless of whose house she is at? Different?
If it is a different daycare - does the opposite parent have a say in where she goes? (meaning, can you send her off to a joe schmo, without needing to explain to the other parent where she is at?
Thanks in advance...
Re: Curious about daycare?
Ideally she would be going to the same daycare instead of two different ones, and they would both agree on the daycare together. The upheaval between the situation is going to be hard on her as it is....to add into that a different daycare each week will make it that much harder on her.
IF they choose to do two different daycares, yes each parent can voice their opinion on eachother's daycare choice but they can't force a certain daycare for the other parent to have her at (unless it's an unsafe environment) - yes it would be nice (and the right thing to do) for them to explain which daycare she is going to, but it's not required.
