We were talking about those rice pillows you can heat up. I mentioned that DH and I use buckwheat pillows on our bed and they're wonderful
She thought I meant that they're stuffed with buckwheat flour and started talking about how they'd attract mealworms that get into flour and wasn't I concerned about having worm in my pillow
I'm a huge germaphobe, not to mention I have a huge phobia of bugs, so I nearly had a fricking heart attack. Finally we realized we were talking about 2 different things.
Please tell me that's not possible wtih my new pillow!
Re: Friend nearly gave me a stroke re: buckwheat pillows
1. where do you buy these?
2. do they smell funny?
3. do they feel funny?

I'm not much help, but I've always been curious about these pillows because I'm allergic to buckwheat (eating it). I seeeeeeeeriously doubt your pillow has worms. They even make dog toys out of it.
BTW, Northern Michigan is beautiful. I lived in Cadillac for 2 years.
My mom uses buckwheat pillows as travel pillows since she has a bad neck. Google them and you should find some choices.
And quit worrying about the bugs. It's not going to be a problem.
I got mine at a local store, but they sell the same ones online. Mine has pure wool covering the buckwheat so they're not at all bumpy. They're so comfortable. I loooove them
They smelled weird to me at first, very earthy, but it only took a few days for that to fade. Some that I saw online suggested adding dried lavender to the pillow since apparently the scent compliments the scent of buckwheat.
I live in TC, so that's about 50 minutes from me
