Looking for quality OB or MW with good bedside manner

Hiya ladies,

6 weeks in and trying to set up medical care for the duration.  I live in Bucktown and am looking for a great OB or midwife.  I am wondering about your experience.  I have a nice GYN (Shayna Rubin) but her front desk is a NIGHTMARE on Elm St. and I can't picture dealing with those sweethearts for ten months.

If anyone can recommend someone close to my home (Damen blue line stop), progressive, smart and easy going I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Re: Looking for quality OB or MW with good bedside manner

  • I had a great experience with the midwives of NMPG when I gave birth to my son 2 years ago.  I would've returned to their practice for my current pregnancy, but I am now living in the suburbs and so the commute for appts, as well as the commute when I go into labor, wasn't really a feasible option for me.

I only saw the midwives throughout my pregnancy, so I can't really speak for the doctors in the group.  Here's the link for the entire group:

Also, you will see all of the midwives throughout your pregnancy because you get whomever is on call when you go into labor.  I liked all of them, so this wasn't a concern for me at all.

  • I went to Progressive Care for Women, 4 OBs, they are on St. Clair. I loved Dr. Hakimian and really liked the rest of the doctors.  The staff was great.
