I'm skipping...no, Running to this board!

Consider me a Regular.

So I guess this is where I say, "Hi, My names Amber, I'm an L&D Nurse, I work 36 hrs a week, have an almost 10 month old and this pregnancy was planned but happened WAY sooner than I thought it would. And I am completly nuts" lol. I thought it would take a couple of months to get pregnant, not a couple of hours!!

Sometimes, I ask myself, "What was I thinking?" and then when I answer, "You wanted a summer baby and a playmate for Lochlan...and your wish was answered, duh"

I think my head hasn't stopped spinning yet with questions like, where are we going to put it, what if he is mean to the new baby, what if he bites it?, how can I afford to be off work if I go on bedrest, who's going to pay my house note?, i'm going to have to get a maid- wait I can't afford a maid haha.

I just had my first u/s this morning which was relieving. I wish there was an app for the droid so I could always have you guys in my pocket when I'm stressing.

  • Congrats! Oh boy do I know the things that are running through your head right now. We were also planning on baby but I thought it would be at least a few months. DD took 2 years of trying so I assumed that we had a lot of time to practice. We got pregnant before we really even started trying. DD was only 11 months old when I found out #2 was coming. I'm 27 weeks now and with her being in the terrible toddler stage now I am having daily what was I thinking moments followed by feelings of excitment. It will be a wild ride for sure!

  • Congrats!  My DD was 9 months when I got KU.  She'll be almost exactly (or it could be exactly if the baby comes 2 days early) 18 months older than her little sister come December!

Like you I thought it would take a couple of months to get KU again, but nope, first try!  What can I say, It's good to be fertile!

  • Congrats and hi! It's a fun ride. I'm a pedi RN so I totally understand the difficulty of long 12 hour shifts while pregnant. My kiddos are about 18 months apart and so far so good (though exhausted beyond belief).
