When do they stop? LO is constantly making grunting and goat-sounding noises. To me, he looks uncomfortable, but the pediatrician (and nurses at the hospital) all said it's normal. But it's all.the.time. I just hope he's ok.
My LO does this. She is 10 weeks now and she doesn't do it as often. She always did it when she stretched. I asked the pedi about it. She also said it's normal & it's LO being vocal in a way. My LO never seemed uncomfortable. DH & I always laughed when she did it cause she really did sound like a little goat!

Andrew did this alot when he first came home. I'm sure he did it in the NICU, i just didn't notice it as much. I think he stopped when he was around 3 months (one month adjusted). I think sometimes it was gas, but not all the time.
we have 12 week old girls today and they are GRUNTASAURES REXs it may be the reason that they start sleepimg in their Nursery becuase it keeps me awake!!!
between the GRUNTS and the GASSY its a very noisy night!
I loved these noises!! My Los have stopped making the sounds (they are 5 months actual 2 months adjusted) and now just 'talk' all their waking hours....I'm a liitle concerned about what it will be like when they actually say words. I can mot remember when they stopped it was as if one day they were grunting and the next day making baby talk.
The nurses in the NICU told me this was referred to as "preemie grunts" and they said they may do it for a while... It's nothing to worry about, they're not in pain or anything.
R still does it sometimes. It's not nearly as bad as it was when we first brought her home. She's still very vocal though .
