been MIA -- but I'm back (with an update!!)

Hi Everyone,

I've been MIA for bit...since our failed match in early Aug...been laying low; trying to keep positive, etc. etc.  We've been presented a few times since then, but nothing came of those situations.  Fast forward to last week...2 situations fell in our lap -- both were ideal (for us).  And, finally (after the nail biting weekend) we've been chosen by one of the birth mothers!  I've been busting full of excitement, I had to spill the beans...so you ladies are the first to know!!

 

We are beyond excited to be chosen - especially since our failed match left me feeling with little or no hope in recent weeks.  BM is in Sacramento, CA...where are all my Cali ladies! LOL!

 

We spoke with the BM Monday and had a great (lengthy) conversation...it was an amazing feeling when we got off the phone with her; both the hubs and I looked at each other and we were grinning from ear to ear and both just starting shaking our heads 'yes'!  It was sort of that feeling - when you know, you know - and we hadn't felt that until now.  We are amazed with this BM.  Everything just feels right.

 

BM has another dr appt today...and she'll have a U/S too.  She said she wants to know the sex of the baby -- so we'll know too!  This appt will also confirm her due date; as she thinks it is Dec, but the lawyer (and her paperwork) thinks it is January.  And we all know that unless you?ve been thru some stage of IF that most women don?t track their periods like we did.  :)

 

We've decided to wait to tell our immediate family until after BMs dr appt; and because of how emotionally invested everyone was when the failed match happened, plus the in-laws are travelling out of the country and we'll Skype with them this weekend.

 

Sorry this got longer than what I had expected...but I am so freakin' excited I cannot even stand it...and I don't know how I'm going to survive the 3hour time difference until after her U/S this afternoon!  :)

    Congrats! I am in Sac too! I am sooo excited for you. 

    On an unrelated note...I am jealous of you being in NC. I miss being a Tarheel.

    Thanks!  We are in NC by way of NY....moved down here 3 years ago and we absolutely LOVE it here; totally understand why you could miss it!

    Unable to conceive due to emergency hysterectomy 11/04 Started our adoption journey 4/11 9/29/11- Officially waiting! 5/29/12- Our little boy is born and goes home with us the next day :-)

    1 ectopic 3 m/c's prior to 5/05 Un-freaking-explained IF 5/05 IVF, BFN 9/05 FET 3d5e, BFP = Beautiful Baby Girl (lucky pg #5) 8/08 Fet 3d5e, cp 12/08 IVF with PGD, transfer 3, BFN 5/09 FET transfer 4, BFN Hail Mary IUI with Follistim 9/11 BFP; 9/22 confirmed tubal/MTX 4/10 FET 3d5e, BFP!!!! m/c 5/26/10 1 year break and yet another m/c 5/11 FET #5 initial beat 121, second beta 7 Lap and removal of L tube and very mild endo 7/11 Suprise BFP 12/11 & m/c @ 8 wks. After 11 losses and one beautiful miracle our journey is over, we are thankful and at peace.

    DD conceived with no issues, but born at 33 weeks due to PPROM
    loss #1-06/2010 loss #2-2/2011 loss #3-5/2011
    07/2011 dx with a Balanced Translocation
    9/2011-decided on domestic infant adoption 10/2011-signed with an agency and getting ready for homestudy :)
    12-2012-after being with our agency over a year and only shown to EM once we decided to talk with RE about DEIVF. Thru a crazy sequence of events we decided to go for it and we picked a donor MUCH quicker than anticipated
    1/13/2013-started lupron with anticipated transfer in mid Feb.
    ER 2/15 resulted in 15 eggs/10M/6F with ICSI.
    2/18 transferred 1-8cell and 1-9cell embie. Snuggle in little embies.
    positive on HPT 6dp3dt. Could this really be IT?!?! Beta 14dp3dt=2440. U/S scheduled for 3/20. Pregnancy Ticker

    We're great, just very, very busy! One last FET to go and then we are done. We've planned a vacation to Hawaii next July to celebrate the end of the 10yr fertility journey (cheaper than another round of IVF)! I don't really opst anymore, but I do lurk from time to time.  I had asked Jcath last month how things were going for you and she knew you were "in process". I am so flipping happy you guys got matched, dec/jan will be here before you know it! I miss the football talk and Friday pip's. I'll continue to stalk you on this board and see how things are going!

    Married - 8/2009 Diagnosed right away as sub-fertile. PCOS for me and low motility, morphology for DH. On treatment of glucophage and supplements for PCOS. Completely OOP. 4 IUI's - clomid- all BFN's IVF #1- 13 fertilized, no frozens- BFN IVF #2- ER 2/21, 18 retrieved, 12 fertilized. ET 2/24 - 2 beauties. No frozens. BFN. IUI #5 using leftover meds- BFN Trying new meds for PCOS. SAIF & PAIF and prayers welcome! Entering the world of adoption. Choosing happiness and love and focusing on the blessings we do have instead of the things that we don't.

    Soooo exciting!  Congrats!  I hope everything goes perfectly.  FYI:  Our BM said one due date and the doctors etc, said another.  T came when his BM said he was due! :-)
    TTC #1 since 12/07 SA 9/08=borderline normal HSG 1/09 found R tube blocked Multiple IUIs both with oral and injectible drugs from 2/09-2/11 Started domestic adoption process in 5/10, homestudy complete 9/10 Failed adoption after home with baby for 2 weeks 11/10 Blessed through the miracle of private adoption with a son, born 6/6/11 (his grandma's bday) 7lbs 9oz 20.5 inches long! So worth the wait!
