Transitioning from work to HOME!

Had the talk with the bosses yesterday that I'm going to be headed into the "stay at home mom" world.  Dealing with nannies has just gotten to be too much and, from a financial perspective, it just makes sense.

Got a call from the nanny this morning that she couldn't come today (sick son) so the girls and I spent the morning together.  Went shopping for shoes and spent some time at the Lakeforest Mall play area.  It was great!

So now I need some ideas.  Starting in November I'll be home full-time.  What do you do with the kiddos?

  • Join a playgroup or a mom's group.  Mommy and me classes are fun.  I try to get out of the house at least once a day, even if it's just to go to Target. Parks on a nice day, most malls have play areas which are nice on rainy days.  Barnes and Nobles have story times and train tables and are usually full of kids We've done Gymboree, Music Together, Soccer Tots, Little Sluggers

  • I really like the Our-kids website.  Even as a working mom, I use their activities lists all the time.  There are so many options out there.  I would think that finding a group where you jive with the moms would be of most benefit.  Congratulations and good luck!

    Ditto to all this!
