Toddlers: 24 Months+

Brands for tall/skinny boys?

Anyone have any success with this?  DS is between 18 and 24 months in the waist, closer to 18, but definitely needs at least 24 months/2T in length.  We looked at Osh Kosh, Carters, Gap, Old Navy, and some hand me down Gymboree clothes.  I am not a fan of Children's Place jeans, they don't feel soft to me.  The button adjustable waists create tons of extra fabric in the crotch, making my DS look rather, um well, you know, lol!  DH ordered some slim fit jeans from Polo.com that were on clearance but who knows if they will work.  Any other suggestions?

Re: Brands for tall/skinny boys?

  • I've gotten DS some Levi's and Gap skinny jeans in 2T. They're not gigantic in the legs and they stay up with a belt.

  • I have a tall skinny girl but figure fitting might be about the same.  Best luck with ON, Hanna Andersson, some Children's Place and Carters (depends on the cut) and some Gap.  I have found Gymboree does not work for her very well because the length is too short and the waist tends to be too big -- shirts are great though.  At his age, you might want to look for more sweat type pants anyway for comfort and usually the elastic waist band works well.  I usually get some at Wal-mart or target and they work well.

  • I believe starting at 2T ON jeans all have an adjustable waist. DS wears ON jeans almost exclusively. Carters is hit or miss for us, I often find them to be long but run large. From time to time I can find lounge/sweat pants at Wal-Mart that are long and skinny.

This is why I love summer... shorts are SO much more forgiving! :)
