We're expecting #2, with big brother named Henry. What are your thoughts on the name Sullivan (I will NOT be encouraging the name Sully, like we do not permit the name Hank for Henry). Thoughts?
I kind of like it as long as you know that as your son gets older he may choose to go by Sully. My parents insisted my brother be called Christopher, but eventually he decided to go by Chris.
My friend named her son Sullivan, and for as adorable as he is, I just can't shake the image of the big blue creature from "Monsters Inc." whenever I hear his name. (Regardless of the "No 'Sully' Rule" at that.)
I think it's fine if you have a family name connection to Sullivan. Otherwise, it's a random last name you're just using as your child's first name. And your child will be called Sully. I have an ex whose last name was Sullivan and he was always called Sully.

And if you don't like Sully I wouldn't go with Sullivan. It's like Jessica or Jennifer, those are super easy to shorten to Jess or Jen, it just happens! Sullivan is the same way I feel.

Re: Thoughts on the name Sullivan?
The new baby is a boy, yes?
I like it fine for a boy. I don't have the "no last names as first names" pet peeve.

It was on my short list for boy names!

It's a last name to me.
