It's NMS but I really like it! Zipporah was the wife of Moses in the Old Testament, but I think this spelling is legit too. Don't care for the nickname Zippy though.
My first thought when I see that spelling is "Prescription Drug." But I like the Zipporah spelling if the parents are of Jewish descent. Agree on Zippy though... bad NN.
In Hebrew the name is pronounced Tzi... so that is an accurate spelling. I realize it is a biblical name so it is fair game to anyone, but unke other Old Testament names, like Rachel, Rebecca, etc, this one feels very Jewish to me.
Tziporah would be more accurate. The name starts with the letter Tzadik...it is pronounced with a tz, not a z.
To me it sounds very old, but I have no issue with it. For sure, I would assume that a person named Tziporah was from a traditional/Orthodox Jewish family.

Re: Tziporah?
I love Zipporah and I've considered it for my own list. I think Zippy makes an adorable NN for a little girl.
Tziporah just looks off to me. It comes off as "trying too hard" (even though they're almost the same!)
But I think it's still good. A very ballsy choice, but I like it.
