What Shampoo do you use on your LO's?

It took forever for B to get hair. Now it's coming in thick and curly. I usually use the all in one shampoo and soap from J and J, but it's just not working now. Her hair is so frizzy and still looks a little oily. What do you typically use? I don't even know if there is a product that you can put in that's safe for someone her age.

I will say this;  I tried this Johnson and Johnson extra conditioning shampoo for thick and curly hair. Blue bottle. Um, smells like stale beer, immediately brought me back to my bartending days:) DH walked in and even said "smells like a bar in here". So besides that product!

Re: What Shampoo do you use on your LO's?

  • My pedi said the J&J all in one shampoos and washes are really only good for babies for about the first 3 months, read it too somewhere.  We use regular Dove bars to wash the kids and either Suave or L'Oreal kids 2in1 shampoo, both are tear free.

  • i've used burts bees since the day I brought ethan home from the hospital.  I love the smell.  they changed the formula and it smells a little different from the original.
  • We also use Burts Bees, but we only have to deal with short boy hair so there isn't much of an issue :)

  • I use Kiss My Face kid's shampoo on Eva and most mornings she needs a spritz of the Kiss My Face conditioning detangler to get the knots out of her curls.

  • Another Burts Bees user here.

My mom loved the smell so much that I bought her the burts bees baby bath powder in a nice glass jar to use in her baths! Haha - she loves it.

  • We've been using California Baby tea tree and lavender body and hair wash, but will eventually switch to Fairy Tales when he gets older. The girl that does my hair sells it in her salon. She really likes how it works on little ones, and it's meant to be a deterrant for head lice. The whole idea of him possibly catching them at some point freaks me out. I'm weird like that.
  • We use California Baby, but maybe when it is used up, I will try Burt's Bees...I love great smelling bath stuff :)

  • Currently using an all in one (BabyGanics Lavender), it's great but I need to find something with moisturizers for winter....he gets a dry scalp.

  • DD needed more conditioning than her baby shampoo was giving her with her crazy curls.  So now I just use my shampoo and conditioner on her.  It's not tear-free, but she has never had a problem.  Less bottles in the tub too.
  • We used Burts Bees, but a few months ago it wasn't cutting it.  Rosie's hair was too frizzy with it, so we started using a Suave 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and her curls are much more tame now.
  • I had the same problem with my LO.  Her hair started to get really frizzy and dry with the Aveeno I was using.  I switched to Suave 2-in-1 shampoo conditioner and have seen a HUGE improvement.

Sometimes the cheap stuff works better than the more expensive stuff.
