Alexandra?

So, I'm mostly just dreaming a little bit.  DH and I are TTC baby #2, and I'm hoping for a girl.  Obviously I'd be over the moon happy with a little boy too, but since this will likely be our last LO, I'm crossing my fingers for a girl to even things out in our house!

 So what do you think of Alexandra? We'd use Lexi as a NN. Our last name starts with an L and is 2 syllables.  DS's name is Dylan Lee.

I really like the name.  It's pretty and feminine.  The NN Lexi seems a little more spunky and less frilly than the full name.  Both are good names.  If you go with Alexandra, I would definetely use a short MN like Jane or Grace.

I think its pretty. I don't have a problem with it.

I love Alexandra but I really strongly dislike the nn Lexi. No offense, but Lexi sounds "cheap" to me since Alexandra is such a beautiful name.

FWIW, there is an Alexandra where I work and she goes by her full name, no nn.

I think Alexandra is nice but all of the potential NN's bother me...especially Lexi.  I think Alexandra with the NN Allie could be cute.

I like Alexandra. It's lovely and classic. Not a fan of Lexi at all. It takes the class level of Alexandra down several notches, IMO.

This is one of those names that, to me, just has no personality because I've heard it so often. I find it dull.

It's got a pretty sound and it's spelled well and all those good things, but to me it's vanilla.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!  I definitely agree that a short MN would be best.  I hadn't thought about Lexi sounding cheap, but now that everyone mentioned it I do see the point.

Alexandra is just "meh," for me, but Lexi has a special place in my heart, since it's my sister's name. It's such a bubbly, cheery little name.
