Soap Nuts

I just came across soap nuts while researching cloth diapers and would really like to know your experience with them. We are new to cloth diapers, we just placed our order this weekend (GMD prefolds and 3 different types of covers). I am now looking into which detergent would be best for us. TIA!

If so...

where do you purchase them? 

how have they worked for your cloth diapers?

what is your cloth diaper laundry procedure (hot/cold rinses, washes, soaks)?

if you use anything else with the soap nuts, what do you use and why?

I bought a sample of them, but have yet to use them. i would be interested in seeing what others think!

I have a friend who uses them, and she's never had issues with her diapers.

She gave me some at my baby shower, and I still haven't used them.  :

We've used soap nuts for all our laundry for about two years, and I love them - I will never go back to detergent. We've been CDing for I guess 7 weeks now and that's all we've used. They get the diapers clean, although I have nothing to compare them to. No issues with repelling or stink so far, and I don't really expect any. Sometimes I take the bag of nuts out of the washer before the rinse cycles, sometimes I don't. The soap nuts people say you don't need to remove them ever, though. 

I bought a huge bag for cheap but I forget where, but they were not whole nuts. I got a nice bag of whole nuts more expensively at naturoli.com. Their soap nuts shampoo is awesome, too. The Naturoli nuts were unbroken, and the other bag was pieces of nuts, but I don't see a difference in the wash, so I would just get the cheaper ones.....
