With our second on the way... I'm wondering if it's time to get rid of my work clothes We need the room but I'm hesitant because I won't get anything back for the pricey items....and probably won't be able to afford fancy items again!!

What if god forbid your DH loses his job in 6 months and you have to go back to work? I hate to be cynical, but you never know. Circumstances could change and then you couldnt SAH anymore.
If you need the space, get the space bags for storing clothes like this:
I had a lot of suits from the job I had before I even got pregnant with DD. By the time I got pregnant with her I was working in a different (much better!) field and am 99.9% sure that I will never work in a job that requires a suit again. I got rid of most of them and kept maybe 2-3 for interviews or things like that. Same goes for most of my work dress shoes, etc.
Keep the really nice stuff, try to sell the "pretty nice but I don't need it" stuff to a consignment shop, and donate the rest.
I keep my suits (things I know I won't wear ever when I'm not working) under plastic and in the attic. But the majority of my stuff was business casual like LOFT and Banana Republic and things that I can wear to some events (nice dinners, etc) with the right accessories. So I keep most of that with my everyday stuff.
I'm not a sweatpants kind of mom so I still try to dress nicely on a day to day basis. Not quite as nice as when I was working (no heels) but definitely not frumpy. Some of my work swaeters can be paired with jeans pretty easily...
I wouldn't get rid of stuff. Especially basics like black pants, suits, and solids. You might go back to work one day or need to look professional for something. Or like others have said, you never know unfortunately with this economy or about something (god forbid) happening that forces you back.
