Hey guys, need some advice...DH is from Florida, and every year he goes to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, it's been a tradition of his since he was like 15. We both went together last year, and are planning on going next week while we're both in FL w/the IL's for his bday. I know I can't ride any rides, but is it safe for me to go throught the haunted houses? I don't spook very easily, so I don't see it being that big of a deal. My SIL went the year she was pregnant and apparently only made it through one and couldn't handle anymore, but she was also 7 months along. I'll be 12 weeks on Thursday. Thanks ladies!!

I would not and here is why:
1. Lighting conditions and trip hazards means your already clumsy self is at a huge disadvantage.
2. Whether or not you get scared, other people do and you do not know how they will react. I have never been to a HH where I have not been knocked down, hit or shoved into something by adults or teens acting like babies.
This.
I was wondering this same thing! I am so glad you asked.
I can't even believe someone is asking this question... and that a lot of you thought it was a good question that you've actually considered before yourselves.

Check if the haunted house has a website and see what they say about it. I wouldn't let pregnancy stop me from going, but my favorite haunted house has this on their site:
Can I go in if I'm pregnant?
The Haunt is not recommended for visitors who are pregnant, have heart conditions or are in general poor health.
Dude... what does WTEWYE say?
I don't know, the BPA in the bubble may damage the baby. I say a glass box.
I would give this a long consideration if I were you. Hayrides are notoriously bumpy. Riding over bumpy roads is very commonly practiced to promote labor.
Also, you never know how sanitary the hay is. Cats are frequently found on farms; what if a cat defecated in or near the hay? Hello, toxoplasmosis!
I went to a haunted house last year and instead of a son, I got a three headed puppy. Tex, Mex, and Rex now share a crate instead of a crib.

Oh no! What have I done! Horns are going to make delivery a b*tch.
Please tell me this is written in a sarcastic tone. Please.
That's right! Like pp said, it will scare the baby right outta you!
HH would be just fine to go to. I went when I was pg and my DD didn't come out with horns or a tail!
Your baby will look like this:
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
eta: wtf? my picture won't show up.
Yes, it was.
PHEW!! Then I will deem it hilarious.
Yeahbut .... I'm pretty sure they mean people who are more than 2.2 seconds pregnant.

They put that type of stuff in to cover their a$$es. I also was told that I couldn't play lazer tag when I was pregnant. I was 15 weeks and didn't have an issue. Pregnant women, people with heart conditions, etc. are listed as people who shouldn't do something typically because the company wants to make sure in case anything happens, they can't get sued.
And seriously, I get some concern about falling, but your baby will never be so protected from bumps than they are right now. They are nestled inside a big cushion behind your public bone (until 12 weeks or so). It would take quite a fall to hurt a typical low-risk pregnancy. Use your common sense.
When you consider that this ? came up at all, and the number of people having a serious discussion about this, what do you think is the probability of having any?

wow....just wow...
this post is scarier than anything you'll ever find in a haunted house!
I think the phrase "Ask a stupid question....." applies on this board quite often. I fell down my stairs at 7 months pregnant and my son was just fine (I had a big bump on my hip but still.) Any amusement park with rides or attractions has these notices, they're not specific, they don't say only if you're 13+ weeks pregnant, they're general statements to cover their asses. If you want to put yourself in a bubble during pregnancy, go for it. Live and learn and all that bs!
I was waiting for this, thank you for making this thread complete.
Glitter jizz and rainbow rams!
Butbutbut, what's the fun of that?! What Bump rock have you been hiding under while working your way up to bronze?
I just wanted to say that I LOVE your Betty White siggy!!
I would say go. YES, you need to be careful not to fall, NO you shouldn't be riding any rollercoasters... and you SHOULD be aware of the people around you but pregnancy is no reason not to do things you like every now and again.
As for those saying it could induce labor... please. She will be 13 weeks pregnant. Not even out of her 1st trimester... If it happens I doubt it will be due to her going through a few haunted houses.
People say sex induces labor... yet most of us are still doing that.
