In seriousness, one thing he did say that I loved was this...If you don't discipline your kids now, when they are in your home and it is under your control, somebody else will, and it won't be under your control then. Is that what you want?
For the first 18 years or so of your child's life, you should have them on a rope; one that is just long enough that you can keep them in the area they need to be, but not long enough that they can hang themselves. Let them make their mistakes and learn from them, but be there for help and guidance before it gets too out of control. When they leave your home, the rope isn't there, and hopefully they will know how to maintain those boundaries themself. I thought that was a great piece of advice.

I think we tend to expect them to behave way more than they are capable of.
They are kids, with the attention span of a flea and the energy of a cheetah.
