Is applesauce binding?

I always thought no...I thought it gave you the runs. But, JT has had diarrhea for now going on the 4th day and nurse told me to feed only bananas, rice cereal, cheerios (he's never had those so not sure if I'm going to go with that), and applesauce.

To add, diarrhea is from my antibiotics in his BM, probably from his antibiotics, and could even be from the Motrin, as nurse said that could upset their tummy's. I'm sticking to Tylenol if and when it's needed.

I'm sorry he's not feeling well!  I've always heard that applesauce stops you up and apple juice makes you go.  It doesn't make sense to me, but it's what I've always heard.

yup, an easy way to remember what to give when LO (or you) have diarrhea is the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. All help stop you up.

I'm so sorry you're both not feeling well still. I hope it passes quickly and you both get feeling better FAST!

See, these are the things new mommies need to know! Before I read this post I called my SMom and she told me the same thing!! I picked up some natural applesauce and bananas at the store this morning.
